The Pawn War

The dwarf delivers the knockout punch

On the chequered boxing ring

Before it's queen's eyes

Like a David killing Goliath

It kills the lights

Of armies of knights in one move

Enemy castles too crumble

As it rumbles in the jungle

Opposing bishops are captured

In rapture of flight

The much maligned effete pawn

Has aligned with exalted queens

The foot soldier is now the root of possibilities 

And route to all possibilities 

On the chessboard of destinies
